COVID-19 has been enormously disturbing the socio-economic conditions of the entire world. The Indian Government is also trying its best to protect its citizens from the coronavirus infection. A large number of people have been deprived of jobs and proper meals. Scores of old age homes and orphanages in India are running short of food and essential items. CybageAsha, the humanitarian arm of Cybage has always extended its support for social welfare and community development. Amid this pandemic times too, Cybage is at the fore to help the needy.
Mamta Andh Anath Kalyan Kendra, an orphanage in Pimple Gurav, Pune run specifically for blind children was also facing a shortage of food items. On February 20, 2021, the CybageAsha Pune wing distributed essential grocery items to them. At present, a total of 35 children live in this orphanage. This donation includes items such as rice, oil, sugar, and so on. This fulfills the center’s two months ration of grains.
The CybageAsha team was happy to see the beaming faces of these little munchkins. 10 volunteers participated in the event and also played interactive games with the children to entertain them. Hopefully, the effort by CybageAsha will help all these children survive through this tough time and also keep their spirits high in fighting against the pandemic.
