On June 27, 2019, under theguidance and leadership of Ritu Nathani, Head-Cybage CSR, CybageAsha contributed towards a new state-of-the-art 2D echo center at the Sassoon General Hospital, a state-run hospital in Pune. This initiative came as a response to the reports that the existing machine was unable to provide accurate diagnosis, thus, hampering the correct line of treatment.
The hospital accommodates more than 100 underprivileged patients in its cardiac ward for examination and treatment per day. It was also identified that a new machine was beyond the hospital’s budget. Considering the situation and massive influx of patients from the economically challenged sections of the society, CybageAsha stepped in and equipped the hospital with a new 2D Echocardiogram machine with advanced imaging technology.
The centre was inaugurated by dignitaries Dr. Dilip Mhaisekar, Chancellor-Maharashtra Arogya Vigyan Vidyapeeth, Dr. Sudhir Nanandkar, Dean - B.J. Medical College & Sassoon General Hospital, and Jaikrishnan K., SVP - Operations, Cybage.
Speaking on the occasion, Jaikrishnan. K. said, “CybageAsha will always help and contribute to society in whatever way we can. We are happy that this machine will benefit thousands of people who suffer from heart problems. We wish all the best to the entire department of Sassoon hospital to take this project ahead and to make maximum use of machine to provide benefits to the needy ones.”
The highlight of the program was meeting a CybageKhushboo beneficiary who is now pursuing a master’s degree at B.J. medical college.
It is rightly said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
