The road to success is always under construction. CybageAsha completed the internal road construction to ensure better infrastructure in Mhalawadi village in Bhor taluka of Pune district.
This quaint little village with 152 households and a population of 752 was in need of better roads for commuting. Director, Cybage and CSR Head Ritu Nathani, handed over the project in a formal ceremony held at the Mahalwadi village. Greg Wiggins, the former client, and present Cybagian was present with his family for the ceremony.
CybageAsha helped the villagers in constructing three roads amounting to 450 meters. As the village is located in the heavy rainfall region, it becomes difficult for villagers to commute. CybageAsha has initiated various programs in this village, which is a part of a cluster of six villages. Agricultural advancement, livestock development, artificial insemination, wadi development, income generation, and skill development are some of the activities that CybageAsha is implementing in this area along with its implementation partner—BAIF.
Recently, villagers have started vegetable farming in their fields to get additional income apart from their traditional paddy cultivation. For this, 191 demo plots were developed in this area. Some of the vegetables introduced in this region are ladies’ fingers, tomato, bitter gourd, peas, chavali, brinjal, and cucumber. They also grow flowers such as marigold and jasmin. Ritu Nathani felicitated Komal Bodke, a student from Mhalawadi village, who scored 97% in her SSC exams.
Encouraging the village students, Ritu said, “CybageKhushboo trust will support the deprived and promising students for their higher education.”
