The whole world was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The central and state governments announced nationwide lockdowns to curb the spread of the virus. Unfortunately, this resulted in the significant increase in unemployment. Especially, daily-wage workers were impacted severely and have been left with no source of income.
Considering the need of the hour, CybageAsha successfully conducted a grocery donation drive in one of its adopted communities. The Trust distributed grocery kits to 20 "Mahadev Koli" (tribal community name) families from the Junnar block of Pune district. These families live in a remote part of Pune. It was sad that every family had at least one member affected by the pandemic, which disrupted their livelihood.
CybageAsha team helped these families with a minimum of two months of grocery items including oil, cereals, pulses, and 25 other essential items. These efforts by the Trust will undoubtedly help them survive and to some extent keep their spirits high in this difficult situation. All the residents were grateful to the Cybage team for making food arrangements for them.
