CybageAsha is always making active efforts to improve the lives of the underprivileged. On 12th May 2020, the trust completed the construction of 35 more biogas plants in the villages of Purandar taluka. In the past three years, CybageAsha has constructed 135 biogas units in the Bhor, Velhe, and Purandar blocks of Pune district.
Biogas plants are both energy efficient and cost-effective. The advantages include less emission of greenhouse gases such as methane, CO2 and nitrous oxide, making them both environmentally and user friendly. Moreover, the odourless slurry which is a by-product of a biogas plant can be used as an excellent fertilizer to grow crops by the local villagers in their fields. The slurry does not attract flies and helps to reduce weed growth.
