CybageAsha organized a tree plantation drive at Mhalvadi village in Bhor taluka in Pune on 13 July 2019. Sixty Cybagians along with their family members participated in the event and planted around 1000 saplings of bamboo, teak, mango, and other forest trees.
CybageAsha is working on the holistic development of the 11 villages of Bhor and Velhe taluka with major focus on agriculture, livestock, watershed, and infrastructure development.
The tree plantation drive took place near the 6500 cubic meters of Continuous Contour Trenches (CCT) that CybageAsha has constructed with the help of its implementation partner BAIF. This helps the water percolate through the soil and increase the water level of the region. The saplings were planted around the CCTs to help reduce soil erosion, increase ground water level, and increase the green belt area. CybageAsha takes care of the survival of the plants by watering them, and providing fertilizers and other aid.
The volunteers had a great time with their kids and family members, and their never-ending enthusiasm and energy spread cheer and smiles all around. Sopan Danvale, Sarpanch of Bare Budruk village, and Sarjeroa Bodake, Sarpanch of Mhalvadi village graced the occasion with their presence.
