Distribution of grocery to Saraniyavas community
12/07/2020:

On June 12, 2020, CybageAsha in collaboration with Panah foundation and former Women and Child Development minister Dr. Nirmala Vadhwani organized a grocery kit donation drive. This was to extend help to 'Saranivyas’, one of the Trust’s adopted community which is facing lack of food supplies.

The nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of COVID 19 left many a daily wage earner with little or nothing to survive on. The community accommodates 507 families consisting of 2525 family members who are daily wage earners and are mainly involved in the business of knife sharpening. The lockdown left them with no work and very limited supplies of groceries.

This much-needed drive was successfully conducted while following the guidelines by WHO. All the participants maintained social distancing while distributing grocery kits. CybageAsha has supplied a month’s grocery support to help them deal with such an unfortunate and unforeseen situation.

Hopefully, this effort by CybageAsha will help the residents of the community survive through these tough times and keep their spirits high in fighting against the pandemic.
