As part of its commitment towards helping the underprivileged sections of our society, CybageAsha has once again played its vital part. The trust received a request from the Pune Police to provide face masks to the slum residents of red zone areas in Pune. CybageAsha representatives as part of their first phase of masks donation distributed 10,000 three-ply, reusable and washable cloth masks in the Dattawadi area of Pune.
During the distribution activity, the representatives also made people aware of the use of masks, washing hands and keeping social distance. The activity took place on 30th April 2020 in the presence of Mr. Devidas Gheware, Senior Police Inspector, Dattawadi Police Station. According to the plan, the remaining 30,000 masks will be distributed soon in the next 2-3 weeks.
Earlier, CybageAsha, as part of its skilling initiative last year, had conducted two batches of tailoring courses in association with Mann Deshi Foundation. The trust donated sewing machines to all the beneficiaries at the end of the course. These beneficiaries are now manufacturing the remaining face masks in accordance with the rules of COVID-19 mask production.
