Among the economically challenged communities, there are barriers that prevent the populace from availing the right treatment for a timely eye checkup. The concept of eye camp is a recognized strategy in providing eye health services to the populations in remote and underserved areas.
CybageAsha ensures that it’s adopted communities are well provided for and well looked after and hence initiates several programs. One such initiative took place on September 28, 2019. An eye checkup camp was organized by CybageAsha at Omkar Nagar, one of the adopted communities in the Miyapur area of Hyderabad. This was done in collaboration with a team of doctors and optometrists from Global Eye Care hospital. The main aim behind organizing the eye camp is to create awareness and ensure medical aid reaches where it is still out of reach. Through this drive, the patients were provided proper consultation along with the medication and eye drops. As a follow up for the cataract patients, CybageAsha will support the patients for their surgeries and spectacles will be provided with the help of Global Eye Care hospital. A total of 28 beneficiaries from the community availed the facility. There were 7 referrals for cataract removal. The camp proved to be very useful for the community and the residents were very grateful for the services they received from CybageAsha.
